My initial impression is that it is a tad expensive.

for a new machine, that price would be about what i'd expect for that spec

laptops with 17" screens are not the most portable

intel integrated graphics are the bottom end when it comes to laptop graphics

have you tried configure a similar spec'd dell inspiron 6400 or 9400 to see how the price compares

i'd say you might get a slightly better spec 6400 for that price, but the screen would be 15.4"

    edit: just checked inspiron 6400

    933euro with vat & delivery

Thats crazy i got a 6400 of dell brand new with the exact spec and a carry case for 561euro delivered. Its the one there advertising in the papers at the moment (the offer last week was a free carry case included). Its 400euro cheaper although the hardrive is only 80gig

well if you got the core 2 duo, the x1400, wxga+ screen then definitely got a great deal

the t2060 processor is the one thing maybe to avoid with the 6400, worth looking for the core duo or core 2 duo instead

Except the 6400 doesn't have a 17" screen, thats why its cheaper.
