Ok, loads of people play at a skirmish with their friend ect and decide they want to buy...but then comes the question of what to buy and they go "I dunno...somtin cool". well that helps alot! I know you can get nearly every real gun in airsoft form, but not everyone is a gun nut...

So i was thinking, why not create a gun list, with all common guns in the folowing sort of format:

Name (beside small pic)
Manufacturers
Prices
Retailers
FPS
Size
Weight
Variants
Accesories available
ect....

And ASI Member reviews (200-300 words max!)

Have it as a pdf / word doc that could be updated.
I would collate it but as i'm not a pro I'd need your assisatance in submitting guns to the list.
Then new guys come along and can see something they like, see if its any good and where to buy?

Good/Bad/Vbad idea?

good idea, but given the vast number of airsofts available, could take a while, an idea for newbies though could be to compile a list based on price, have a couple of different categories for sub €100 incl shipping 100-150 150-200 etc...

Good idea but shiping can vary alot, exact location, time of year, express, airmail....

But we can stiil but in rough order of cheapest to dearest of proce ranges.

Do you have any idea how much a list like that would torment me "I want one of those and one of those ooh those look nice......."

Its a good idea if you do make a list PM me a copy, I'll print it and go window shopping from the comfort of my armchair

It would take a long time. Plus it would also need to be updated constantly as new items are always coming out. Especially with the Chinese market lately.

It would be easier if people submitted their own reviews of their equipment to a review section of the IAA website. Or something similar to that.

Maybe just a selection of well known noob devices and a vote on which is the better ones and people can leave comments from personal experience with the unit?

The whole point is not in depth reviews but just a riugh gist of whats out there. We would only put in the main stuff and woudn't have to put in all the chinesse clones aswell.

Extremez made the point to me that we need to leave out "gun" so any suggestions for a better name?

We don't need to leave out ''gun'' thats been gone over before.;)
A nailgun is a nailgun, it fires nails, its not a nail tool.
Don't be afraid of using the term gun but don't forget to throw in airsoft every now and again.;)

What you need to leave out is ''weapon'' and the such.

It's duplicating work that's already largely been done.
Go to www.wgcshop.com and have a look through (or send the new players there).
See something ya like? Type it in google.

I saw on ASI you said that there are too many guns on wgcshop - that's because there ARE that many different types of guns. Making a list with just the ones you prefer is defeating the whole point of having a comprehensive list.

Still though, go ahead if you like. It's not my time.

Nah, Im sorta compilin a list of the most likely, like i hate Spetz's but they're common so they're going in.

You dont have to use the list but if anyone wants to they can.
