I won't be posting anymore

For any of you who know, or care, who I am I won't be posting here anymore. Twice I've been warned and once banned for posting obvious jokes on threads. (I was then unbanned, but that's not my point). I haven't posted anything offensive nor have I insulted anyone or their arts, people are welcome to train how they want and why they want. If you saw some of the things I post on other forums you'd undoubtedly agree that I'm rather mild mannered on here.

I'm glad this place exists as it helps me to keep up with the Irish MA scene now that I live in France and I will continue reading, but I don't agree and don't understand the overreactive responses of moderators on here. I post how I talk and I take the piss a lot, if you can't take the piss on an Irish forum then I'm not comfortable posting here.

That's the end of my Drama queen speech.

    DROC

    Droc,
What posts were you banned for???

The trap is set... lets see if Mr. "I won't post" replies...:D

Not only was that a simple misunderstanding that was reverted in under 30 minutes (and which I pushed for), but my understanding is that you got an apology too.

    Is that correct?

Droc, you need to just realise that with the regular mod away a decision was made by someone who offered to look after the place in his stead.

It turned out to be wrong and was reversed. This has happened to me in the past in other fora. Hardly a massive deal?

Besides, lets be honest, the post you made looking like nonsense to anyone who would not regularly read the forum.

What a crazy forum. I'll never look at it again.

And I was thinking of taking up Kung-Fu and all and I wanted some advice. Maybe someone on the "Personal Issues" forum might know something about it...

As has been mentioned it was a misunderstanding, the mod who banned droc, upon reflection and a little explanation, unbanned him and as far as I know apologised.

The joke may not have been obvious to someone who isn't a regular on this forum, so cut the mods who are only keeping an eye on the place some slack.

Droc, I'm sure there's no need for you to leave boards and I hope you change your mind, unfortunately we don't have a time machine in our mod utils, but if we did I'm sure this situation which has left you feeling this way would have been avoided.

I've apologised for banning you. It was a simple misunderstanding. I unbanned you as soon as I was told that you were a very good and funny contributor and that i had made a silly error.

Have to agree droc...I'm actually the person who reported your post (hands up on that one) but Khannie was straight into the mod forum fighting your corner :) and both of us highlighted the post by Nothing Compares supporting you.

My own view is that the forum has been going through a hard time recently so people are a bit edgy about it (Admins included). From what I can see, ever since that ninjutsu thread was closed, people have gotten back to basics and everyone has lightened up a little.
It's good to change perspective every once in a while.

Posters like yourself are needed on a forum like this, especially to lighten up dodgy dick-measuring threads and as has already been said, while the regular mod is away of course there will be mistakes made. Colm would have completely ignored my reported post or just replied to let other mods know that everything was cool.

Ruggie only banned you because he (like me) didn't know what was going on and it did look like something a troll would post. The last thing we need on this forum right now is another thread degenerating into madness :)

Personally, I'm going to step back and think a lot more before posting because I tend to get wound up a lot lately (outside pressures in life!). I would say someone like you is necessary in a forum like this tbh.

That's what I thought. That should be the end of it tbh.

    Lighten up droc.

    I think u should stay .

It's important that Droc stays. It's also important that the moderatoring situation on this forum changes. Get rid of repli - he doesnt read the forum or moderate to the best of my knowledge.

Colm does a great job but the task requires two committed people.

Khannie has shown that he reads the forum, understands what the forum is about, shown an excellent ability to moderate, and is also a moderator on another forum. I'm sure he'd be willing and able to do this.

I'm sure ruggie is already swamped looking after the cricket forum and rugby fora as they are currently at some of their busiest time of the year.
