have you entered you're WEP code? You should be able to get this from your router web page ... havent got my hands on mine yet, but you had to do this for the Wii

(i think its called that anyway)

I have and it is correct. The PS3 is not finding an IP address.

I had problems with wireless too. Didn't have the patience to sort it out.

Resorted to trailing network cables, phone cables, extension leads and routers between 3 rooms. :D

I have a feeling that you may need to input your eircom user account details also, in addition to your WEP.

I'm with utv, which is PPPoE, and when I selected this option it looked for usernames and such.

Will sort it out over the weekend.

i hooked my wireless eircom router last night no problem. impressed with no lag issues (so far) on my 2MB connection. had a multiplayer game of resistance last night with about 20 other players and didn't experience any issues :)

the 2MB is a bit slow downloading stuff alright. the 750MB F1 demo took ages but great it can be done in the background.

im having some issues as well, the ps3 can get an IP address fine but it cant connect to Eircoms DNS servers. Strange. Im browsing the web fine from my laptop here so i see no reason why the ps3 cant connect. Anyone got any ideas?

have you tried manually setting up the DNS? add in opendns sever's also not just eircom's.

Access your router settings through a PC and turn the firewall on to low. Its also a common issue with Xbox 360's but easily resolved.

ill try turning off the firewall in the router to see if that does anything. The Xbox connects fine though.

I have entered all network details in manually I always do as I dont use
DHCP here on my home network.

You could try the PSP set-up option stickey at the top of this board. Thats what I was going to do before the PS3 decided to work for no apparent reason.

As I said try an add non eircom dns

check opendns.org for some fast reliable dns servers
