Can anyone tell me if it's normal for a wireless optical mouse to continue "flashing" long after the PC is shut down and there is no movement whatsoever?

It's a Trust MI-4100, connected via USB receiver if that helps.

    Thanks.

The mouse has it's own power source (batteries) & it probably takes it a while to go into sleep mode once it loses the signal from the USB receiver after shutdown.

Yeah, that's what I would have expected, but it seems to be blinking 24/7!!!

The manual suggests that this can be caused by either low batteries or other metal objects nearby?

Think the batteries are fine, must check that the metal PC desk isn't causing it.
    Thanks for the info ;)
