NTL - second digital point - problem with digibox

Ok, got a second NTL Digital point added to our extension on Wednesday. The digibox is slightly smaller then the first one we received and still use, which is located in our living room.

The TV we'll be using is a 42" LCD s I had to take it off the wall on Tuesday night to allow the NTL engineer to place the point behind it (hide wires etc.).

When I placed the TV back on the wall, connected he digbox and turned it on I got a message telling me to wait as the digibox was about to search for services.

The same msg was displayed for 20 mins until eventually this was displayed -

"your set top box cannot find any services. Switch off your stb from the mains, check all connections and switch back on after 10 seconds. Error 1014."

My wife rang NTL today and CS said we were missing a wire going from the "Cable In" port to the TV. Can anyone confirm this is true?

    We have the following connections:

    1) scart from digbox TV socket to tv
    2) power lead from digibox to socket :)
    3) connection from TV Cable Out socket to NTL Digital point in wall

Can anyone tell me if this is correct?

Much appreciated as I'm dying to see some TV on this new telly!!

    Cheers.

Surely it should be ntl wall socket to Cable IN not OUT?? So I would say it is true? Is the ntl wall socket an F Type connection? And the Cable reciever a standard 75ohm connection?

It is going from wall socket to Cable Out at the moment which I accept sounds wrong, but using the connection lead the NTL engineer supplied us with, it's the only "port" on the digibox which will accept that end.

Cable IN is female so only accepts a male connector, but the NTL wall point is also female so that's also looking for a male connector.

The connector we were supplied with is male to female, not male/male at both ends.

OK...sorted. Managed to dig out a coonector which was male on both ends and hooked that up to NTL point and digibox. Channels were displayed straight away.

Not sure why we were given a male/female connector but there you go.

    Thanks for your time snaps.

If that's a black lead it should be connected to "cable out" to feed analogue signal back to your TV or VCR.
