Would laser toner cartridges fail from lack of use?

    Hi.

I am considering buying a colour laser printer which is on sale at a good price. It would be for home use and would therefore would not be used heavily.

The colour cartridges (3 needed) have an expected life of up to 4000 pages so this would take me a long time to wear out. However they seem to cost up to €160 EACH to replace.

What I'm wondering is would these cartridges eventually fail because of lack of use. A life of 4000 pages would last me years...but would they last that long in reality?

Thanks in advance for any help

No you should be grand, just give the cartridge a wee shake once in a while, that'll losen up any toner that gets caked up.
