    From tvguide.com:

This just in from the Alphabet:

"ABC Television Network today announced early pickups for the 2007-08 season for new breakout series Brothers & Sisters, Men in Trees and Ugly Betty, as well as returning hits The Bachelor, Boston Legal, Dancing with the Stars, Desperate Housewives, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Grey’s Anatomy, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Lost.

"These series join previously announced [pickups of] America’s Funniest Home Videos, Supernanny and Wife Swap."

Chin up, Erika Christensen, it's early yet. Worst case, "Montgomery's Ward" could always use a 27th female cast member.

With regards to the renewals, no real shockers with the exception of 'Boston Legal' which (as far as i know) hasn't been very confident of a renewal for the previous two years. I've only started watching it recently but it's fantastic - can't wait for another season.

"What About Brian" is reportedly on the bubble.. i enjoyed the first short (was it a 6 or 7 episode) series but quickly tired of this season when after 6 or 7 episodes, it just seemed to went nowhere but haven't watched it in a while. Started off stupendously.

Urrgghh.. "Desperate Housewives" and "Ugly Betty" - i know plenty of people like them but to me, they're mediocrity defined - but one's man poison..

No shockers there except "Grey's Anatomy" ;)

I watch a fair few and quite enjoy some of the escapism offered by DH and "Ugly Betty" so I'm knocking back that poison Baquille!

Have just started in on "Boston Legal" (4 eps in) and am already enjoying it. I already want my lawyer, if I ever need one, to just walk up and go "Denny Crane" and have everyone brick themselves :)

I have actually been looking forward to Six Degrees. I like the actors and the premise was different. It was a bad sign when ABC pulled it in November, but they had faith and returned it to the schedule on Friday. Lets just say that the ratings were dismal on a slot which traditionally ABC does bad in. Wrestling beat it in total viewers on the CW.

Another JJ Abrams show, What About Brian, coming to E4 this summer, is also in a dire situation. Its season order was increased from 13 to 22 and back to 19. The season fianle next week will probably b its series finale. Last Monday more that 22 million people watched Dansing with the Stars and only 6.5 million stayed for Brian.

I just hope the writers can craft a decent ending for both shows.
