Model Photoshoot Package

Hi I hope this is appropriate to this forum. I was thinking about a birthday present for my girlfriend and wanted to get something vaguely original.

I'd heard that some photographers/studios do a kind of mock-model photoshoot package, where a customer does a photoshoot like a proper model with a make-up artist etc. with organised fashion poses etc. but just for personal experience/enjoyment and to end up with a personal photo collection, not necessarily for any professional career.

This may seem like something that any pro. photographer would do, but I'm looking for something with the various trimmings organised.

Googling hasn't produced much for me. I've found references to this stuff but no definite details or price ranges. Can anyone here give me some details? Thanks in advance.

what a novel idea, i'm sure a few photographers here would be able to sort that out with you, all you need it studio access and a make up artist, and a few funky clothes, thats a very interesting business idea

I got something similar for my gf for Xmas about 2 years ago.

She wouldn't be the most confident person in that regard so I didn't think she'd go for it if it was just on her own. Instead I suggested that she get some photos taken with her son.

I think it was around €210 for the shoot and a single 10 x 8 (that didn't include makeup or anything). I didn't go all out on it to start in case it wasn't her thing but I told her I had no problem splashing out more again if she liked it and wanted more than just the one photo.

In the end another couple of hundred (not sure could have been 2 or 3) got her/us a lovely big dispaly with 1 large photo of them with five 8x6 photos around it.

It now has pride of place above our fireplace and has earned me untold brownie points - with Mrs Stipey and her family and friends.

Not sure if I would be told off for naming said photographer (so I won't)- but he was absolutely top notch. Not sure if he was a tad on the expensive side - he had won photographer of the year the previous year (iirc) so was probably justified if his prices were a little on the high side. In any case it kind of had to be him because she passes his shop every day and was always going on about the photos on display in his window.

go for it, knock yourself out. did you see it advertised or did you approach him with what you wanted in mind? i guess any fashion photographer would do this for the right money

'twas John Ryan in Tempelogue - johnryanphotography.com.

She passes by his shop every day and was always talking about the photos of cute kids he has in his display window.

So I just popped in and asked him would it be his thing, does he do gift vouchers and what it would cost for the bare minimum (in case she didn't go for it).

There was a place called Cover Shots that did exactly this type of package. Not sure if they're still around though. Googled them but couldn't find their website.
