I think it’s a little sad how the others were portrayed as an almost alien type species in the first two series and are now mere humans and don’t seem that great after all.
I will list a few examples of what I mean by “being portrayed as an almost alien type species”
    • How they kidnapped people from the tail section survivors camp so easily without leaving any trail or trace.
    • Their strange whispering sound in the jungle.
    • Jack, Sayor & Loche’s first confrontation with them (when they kidnapped Kate who was following them) Sayor fired a shot at the man with the fake beard but it seemed to have no effect.
There are many more example which I can’t think of right now.

However the others do not seems so great in this series, they fight amongst themselves & make mistakes and seem more human like…..does anyone else think this??

Yes i do think they are a lot more normal than we expected them to be...I think some of the losties are acting more weird than the Others at the moment:) But i am really loving this series and cant wait for the upcoming eps.

It was the whole fear of the unknown thing before.

Now we know a little more about the others, but there are still massive mysteries surrounding them and the other things that have happened on the island.

I don’t know if they were portrayed as an alien-like species to be honest. I mean Ethan did have a lot of extra strength when he had a physical fight with Jack. They were extremely stealthy when “stealing” people and children that were on their list. For example when Eko caught two of them trying to steal more people he killed then with a rock very easily. This would take away any idea that they were infact physically superior than the losties.

One thing I don’t agree with in your post is the voices. We don’t know if that was the Others or Dharma speaking to the losties. For example if you listen to the whispers and play some of them backwards, it sounds like they are trying to warn the losties and not infact harm them. This brings me to think that the voices are Dharma and not the Others.

in the first two series it seemed like none of the others have ever been off the island
