    Hi All

Well I finally got my camper van and am currently going through all of the bits and pieces to make sure that they all work:confused:

The maiden voyage will probably be over to England over Easter.....possibly the week after. We are planning on heading down towards Bristol and maybe moving on towards Portsmouth

Anybody got any advice regarding campsites down that end of the country?

Is there web listings available for sites in both Ireland and England? How about Europe?

    Any advice most welcome

    Thanks for your help

Auntie Google will spit out most campsites. Problem is that some belong to different head organisations and so its difficult to find one site that lists them all. Another problem is that some UK sites in the more popular locations have hefty prices unless you're a member of some club or another ...and once again not all campsites gieve reductions for all clubs.

Finally, not everywhere will be open yet. Some campsites open Easter, some later, but this time of year it is difficult to get hold of people to make inquiries or reservations because almost everything is still deserted.

Other than that I have no real experience to offer ...the last time I was on a UK campsite is about 15 years ago ...so hardly up to date, sorry :o

The AlanRogers guide books are excellent for most of Europe, Ideal if you're just wandering around and fancy stopping off somewhere. Quick reference and easy to read. Check their site at http://www.alanrogers.com/ which also has a lot of info.
If your planning on Bristol then check the Longleat website, the place is well worth a visit and excellent for kids. Not sure about camping but the do recomment local campsites.
Another excellent campsite down South of England is Woodlands Park but it's probably too far away from Portsmouth.
