Where in paris are you heading ?

Beauvais - Ryanair run a shuttle bus from the airport into Paris itself after all its flights, keep in mind Beauvais is about an hour out of paris so this can be kind of inconvenient.

CDG - You can get the metro straight from CDG into paris. Maybe 5 mins max.

I much prefer CDG, its worth the extra few quid but if the inconvenience of travelling into Paris doesnt bother you Bauuvais is usually cheaper.

Heading to around the Bastille. Booked already, in by CDG (EasyJet from London), out by Beauvais 'International' (Ryanair to Dublin).

How long does the Beauvais shuttle take, and how do I know which one to get for my particular flight?

We flew out of Beauvais last Summer after interrailing, the friendly girl in the hotel told us how to get to the bus stop but failed to m ention that they stopped at a certain time (8 or 9). Anyway we ended up at the bus stop with our flight leaving in an hour and a half, had to get a taxi and tear it up to Beauvais which took about an hour and cost 130euro. So make sure you get it before it stops!!

Beauvais is a nightmare to get back to. Serious waste of time and money. I wish I had flown aer lingus. Unlike most ryanair destinations, this airport is seriously out of the way. The departures lounge was a marquee for a time!!! The only real option you have is a ryanair bus to and from the airport so if you miss that you havent a hope!

Hah yeah I was there when it was a marquee too !

We almost missed it ourselves we slept in and missed out train back to paris ended up running an hour late, got to the bus stop and realised we missed our bus, spoke to a conductor there who made sure we were the first onto the next bus. Thankfully our flight was delayed a bit so we were there with a bit of time to spare.

So if you're reading this Mr. Bus Conductor, thanks again !

You're supposed to get the bus 3 hours before your flight. You get it from Porte Maillot. Details are here: http://ticket.aeroportbeauvais.com/boutique_us/fiche_produit.cfm?ref=ref6001&code_lg=lg_us

If you're going to CDG you'll have no problems - apart from the initial anxiety about being in a strange place and needing to get somewhere! Have only been once but would love to go again... Public transport is excellent and so practical and I did not encounter any of the infamous French Ignorance you hear so much about - quite the opposite in fact...

Mind your belongings on the metro though, just as you would on the Luas!
