A little rant – Was in Tesco the other day and saw someone ahead of me in the queue with 3 of those large water bottles, and happened to glance that the water came come Scotland. I know in the greater scheme of things it’s irrelevant but to think that a container truck brought water down from Scotland to Hollyhead, via London (guess), then through the streets of Dublin. It’s madness, how much oil is wasted on these marketing type products where the underlying product value is essentially 0 and could easily be produced locally assuming it’s needed at all. This area is ripe for some serious green taxes imho

I agree but it probably wont be taxed as its a "healthy option" as opposed to coke etc

the only reason id ever buy it is if im real thristy and nowhere near a tap, as i wouldnt drink any of that sugary crap.

In essence all coke etc is is sugared water so not to much of a difference really

I was looking at a bottle of San Pellegrino Italian water in my local pizzeria recently (they all seem to think they must stock this brand to be "authentic"). On the label it gave details for returning the bottle for a deposit in Australia!

It can't get any madder than that - shipping water to the other side of the world . . . .
