I've been keeping an eye out for it but haven't seen it - is it out in shops?

I was going to buy it online from direct2drive.com but its N. America only. I loved Soldiers - didn't realise this was a sequel.

It was out some time back, September or so. It's the same engine and game mechanics. I'm finding it strangely enjoyable so far, but that could be because rampaging through a village full of yanks in a Panther tank is always good for a laugh. There are some annoyances, such as appallingly bad translations, and the Russian voice over people mis-pronouncing French and Dutch place names.

I haven't done much gaming over the years. I've dipped in and out, everything from the Amstrad CPC, Streetfighter on the Megadrive and Command & Conquer on the PC, but Soldiers: Heroes of WII was definitely the best game I've ever played. I was very enthusiatic about the sequel, Faces of War, but its been a bit of a letdown.

It's still a great game, but for a newer game it's disappointing to be worse than its predecessor. I get the impression they were trying to hard to mimick the AI of (the overrated?) Company of Heroes.

I'm stuck on the Allied Walcheren level. Basically cleared all the Germans out in front of the defensive wall, but can't find a way to get over it and attack the big guns. I suspect I haven't followed "the script" properly. This was never a problem with SHoWWII, which allowed you to explore multiple ways of finishing games.

This game is a big disappointment. The training levels are just annoying, keep cropping up. The scripted oddities are annoying. Maybe I expect too much after SHoW2. Maybe time to find a new game.
