    Howaya lads,

Hope this is okay - I'd put it on adverts but I think you'll appreciate it more here as it's more of a specialist tool than one for DIY fans. If that's not okay, feel free to delete it of course Kadman.

I have an 18 month old Hitachi SB110 4" belt sander for sale - 240v version. It was bought from Gerry in McQuillans in Blanch when I was helping one of my friends lay laminate flooring throughout his house. I used it to prepare all the new skirting boards for the house, as the builders had made a mess of the original ones. We hassled them to deliver two packs of skirting as replacements, and I spent a couple of sunny days in the back garden sanding new boards and painting them before cutting and fitting them.

Anyway, it's in great condition obviously, as it was used for just that one job. Since then, I've been moving it around my workshop from shelf to shelf and it's really just getting in the way at this stage. It has a couple of marks here and there from coming into contact with other tools and things in the workshop, but it's certainly not abused, and barely used.

I might have the box somewhere for it, but definately have the original manual and dustbag, and probably the sanding belt that came with it too in the spares/manuals drawer.

I paid €350 at the time for it (He wouldn't budge on price) and that's what a new one will set you back now too - I checked last weekend. I'm thinking €200 is a very fair asking price, and I'll deliver it in Dublin for that. I'll also post it at your cost, but at over 7Kgs it might be pricey.

Anyway, let me know if anyone's interested.

    Cheers,

    Gil

    Hi,

My name is Kevin Davis, I'm living in Sandyford in South Dublin. I'd be interested in having a look at the sander with a view to buying it. I'd be around tomorrow evening if that suits? Would you be able to tell me what length the belts of sandpaper are for it?

    Cheers

    Hey Kev,

The belts it uses are 100 x 620mm, but the thing I remember about this was that it can use a 75 x 620mm belt too - That's a 3" instead of the 4" if you're stuck.

I've also found a spare box of belts I had - They're 4" P100 grade, and can be taken away with the sander if you're interested.

I'll PM you my number anyway.

    Cheers,

    Gil

    Hi,
I have the SB-75 which I picked up about 6 years at a hire shop sale. It's a great machine and has not let me down.
    Keep well,
    Torq
