Irish Open %`s

Well as some of you may have noticed i won my ticket for the irish open last night. i have since decided that it would be of great benefit to me to play it rather than sell it and hope to take the wonderful opportunity with both hands. As a result i think it would be of psychological benefit to me to sell off some %`s of myself and release some of the value. i dont think it would be of any benefit to me to be playing for the full amount and so will be open to offers for sale. i was thinking of selling around the 30-40% mark. so as per usual the normal kinds of rules exist - first in, first choice.
    it will be a straight swap % - i.e. 100%-3,500 so => 1%-€35, 10% €350 etc.
Payment can be made however you choose but cash would be preferrable but other methods can be arranged too.
    thanks, Joe GL2M.

    Joe,

Well done on the win last night, my own thoughts is i think you would be mad to sell a % of yourself, if you are feeling good about your game and know that you have no outlay would this not take the pressure off.

I can understand maybe selling a % if you had to buy in directly but i do not understand your reasoning to go down this road having gained more or less a free entry.

Just my opinion once again well done with the win sir and best of luck in IO.

I would agree with Llyod. If you paid in the full €3500, and could afford it, then selling % is nothing more than a laugh.
But the buy-in is a large chunk of money. You have already invest an amount of money to quailify. There is a risk that if you approach the bubble that you could take less risks in order to cash so that to make something out of it and result in selling yourself short in the tourney. I know that you would never plan to do this and would avoid it at all cost. But the tourney pressure can have a massive effect on the day, or half way through the game.

Perhaps sell off the same amount that you invested to quailify. Then the pressure to cash should be removed.

congrats on the ticket again joe, i was planning on playing a few quailifers, but the bankroll is not happy at the moment

    5% please!

edit: and I fully understand why you are selling %'s

Upon reading the posts above and having a think through i will limit myself to 25%.
The reason i am sellign %s of myself is that i will also be missing out on work over the time i.e. dealing and wouldnt like to make a lose-lose situation. i do feel really ready for this tournament and i dont think a big cash is out of my reach at all, however i would be absolutely sick if i bubbled it and would probabyl regret not selling it. so by selling this % i am happy that i have covered the cost of satellites + a little bit for the days work ill inevitably miss!it cost me 565 in total to qualify so this will claw that back and leave me care free to play on.

BCB, Carfax and O Callagh all taken.

congrats on the win joe - i would rec only selling bout 20-25% because your literally free rolling
main reason for this is that as you said your not too flushed and its alot of money for one tournie (imagine first hand your aces lose to ak !!!)
Also god forbid you lose in day one, wouldn't it be nice to be able to play in the 1k tournie the next day.

selling fast, you wouldnt see this on ebay! we should have some sort of thread were interested players could offer %'s - itf it goes like this one, then we're bound to have a boards interest in the latter stages of the tournie
