How much do you guys buy? I cant go a week without going to HMV, Virgin and buying a new release along with '3 for 30' same with music Cd's. Good for my collection no doubt but not my bank account, the offers are just to tempting, Im be in trouble if I owned a credit card! I stick to 3v vouchers.

Generally, I try to avoid the highstreet shops, as every time I go in, I have a huge compulsion to buy everything I can see. But I generally buy between 5-10 DVDs a month.

I spend way too much on DVDs each week. I'll often spen over 200 euro a week on DVDs.

I tend to stay away from new dvds, unless it's something that I really really enjoyed in the cinema. Wait about 2 months and they'll appear in Virgin or HMV's 3 for €30 or deals of that type.
Although having said that, I do probably buy a little too many. I'll buy a movie without seeing it if I think I might in any way enjoy it, or if I liked something the director did previously. I have a list written down of ones I've bought and not gotten around to seeing yet.

I was a little cheesed off today when I saw a special ed Children of Men. The movie only came out a month or so ago, and of course I bought it. Damn money racket

Yeah, saw that aswell. Damn annoyed about that, because the little featurette on the single disc was quite excellent.

I've cut down a lot, now I mostly just buy ones I really want. I don't have the shelf space.

I used to be a complete 3 for whatever addict but I've completely cut down now. Mainly thanks to Amazon DVD rental. Anything I buy now must be a film I really love and is at a fair price.

Fell into that myself not so long ago. Still have DVDs I haven't watched yet :o

I only have about five left in my backlog. I'm doing my best to get through it before I buy more. My collection is currently at about 290; better than most but nothing compared to some people.

Mine is currently 455, that's since I started collecting in 1999. I've slowed down a bit, got the old ones I wanted, now just buy new ones now and again, though plan to rent more. A friend of mine has about 420, BUT he buys complete series of Only Fools and Horses, Babylon 5, Star Trek etc. so overall has way more.

I am still wondering what % of that I'll rebuy in whatever HD format wins..

I have run out of space for my dvds, 6 shelves full at the moment with enough left over to fill 2 more. I have cut down on my buying significantly. I rarely buy new releases, it doesn't take too long for them to drop in price so I can wait. I usually end up not buying any for ages and then going and ordering 20 or so on play (mainly Asian films because they're too expensive in shops).

One thing about the 3 for 30 deals in HMV, Virgin etc is that I find at this stage most of the ones worth buying in the offer I already have.

I have a pretty big back log to get through and it's my own fault. Instead of watching a new film I'll watch Friday or Dazed and Confused or Ghostbusters for the 20th time. I've also come to realise that my non-English speaking dvd collection is bigger than most peoples collections in their entirety.

I have cut down alot, its about quality not quantity, realised one day i was just buying them for the sake of it, try and only buy films i really really like or ones that come recommended from people that seem to have good taste or even unique taste, bought Save The Green Planet couple of weeks ago, from recommendation here, excellent film and its alot more satisfying receiving a DVD like that in the post rather than buying 3 for £30 in Virgin and probably never watching them.

Also seem to be watching alot more foreign films, buy most/all online as its so much easier.
If I kept on going the way I was a couple of years ago, couple every week i would have loads but i sold and gave away alot and really try and not keep ones that i dont really like, they take up a bit of space as well and annoying if you move.
