Pension in previous job

    Hi.

I had payments for a pension scheme in a previous job taken from my pay packet for the four years I was there. Did not know anything about the pension realy, was young and foolish and did not care:)

anway left that job three years ago, worked in one place since then, and now working in another new job. Neither had or has a pension scheme?

Does anyone know where that payment I made into the pension account is gone? Should I be able to pass it onto new job...could I cash it? Is there anyway I could find out without having to get in touch with my old job?

    Cheers

You can't cash it in but you get it as a bond to transfer into any new pension you take out. So you will get the equivalent of the current value of the pension. Contact your old company and ask them who the policy is with.
