    BG&RH Pledge of allegiance.

    I promise to drink more.
    I promise to eat more.
I promise to do more to increase my guttage.
I promise to do as little work as is humanly possible.
I promise to scratch my ass when i want to and not when no-one is looking.
I promise to fart, belch and make other bodily noises whenever i feel like it.
I promise never to diet or use low fat products.
    I promise never to exercise.
I promise never to use hair regeneration products.
I promise never to even contemplate a comb-over.
I promise never to wear pink shirts.

I..(your name)..swear to uphold the BG&RH constitution and all it
    stands for.

Please add pledges to the above constitution if it is in any way
lacking vital rules that make life easier for the Brotherhood.

I'm having nothing to do with any Pledge.
Lat Time I took the pledge I didn't drink for 3 years.
I have tried to blank out the years of my life between 11 and 14 but it's no good...

I couldn't be ârsed signing up to some sort of frat-house pledge.

The whole over-30's middle-age spread & hair loss theme of this forum has already already given way to soppy Viz-reading students with 28" waists & full heads of hair.

I'm also a cranky bâstard in the morning.

I will also continue to wear my pink Desperate Dan t-shirt whenever the fuçk I like.

Real men don't make pledges. That might mean upholding some sort of standard, and we can't have that.

Sweet Jebus! I've seen it all now. A 16-year-old posting on a Beer Guts & Receding Hairline forum.

SligoBrewer - No harm lad, but come back when you can at least buy a pint legally.

Sleepless nights with young un's & first day of the working week & bleedin' coffee shop* wasn't open on my way into the office Brother Hagar. Thanks for your concern.

Am going to book a shootin' session later in the week to de-stress.
Am already thinking of a lunchtime pint for more immediate relief.

    * When I eventually get to coffee shop there's some tosser with a 28" waist & a full head of hair before me ordering "4 tall skinny de-caf lattés to go, roysh!" WTF?! And he had is scarf in that stupid-doubled-up-wound-around-the-neck-&-back-through-the-hoop way. FFS!!!

** Someone get me a valium please... :(

The last time I took a pledge, it was in the presence of the Bishop and had something to do with not having any beer for a certain period of time. Any chance the word "pledge" could be changed to something less traumatic?

I too have difficulty signing a pledge as that means I must make an effort to uphold it.

Better to drink, eat and expand because I want to and not because some pledge says I must!

I second Brother Billy's concerns about slim, hairy headed youths hanging about here.

Oh brother smashey, you've just brought back a long forgotten traumatic memory there :( But it was a silly pledge that no one could be expected to keep!

But I agree with you on that word "pledge", has traumatic insinuancies for many of us. I propose we replace this word with "lifestlye"... as in...

So you ended up going off the bandwagon and blanking out years 15 until present? That's better than any pledge I've seen here!
