    People

First of all congrats on a great win!!” being English I have never been behind an Irish team more than on Saturday watching the match!!

Having played Cricket in Ireland for a while I’ve seen the game get greater interest due to Immigrants like my self playing for local clubs.

My main question is, will this success drive people to come and play cricket for local clubs in Ireland?

And are we prepared for it?

We need to build upon this success by making new people to the game feel welcome and supporting them with coaching they need to develop there new interest in the game?

There is still a lot of snobbery from both sides in cricket in Ireland! To insure we build on this we need to have good coaching programs for Taverns clubs, a more basic version of the game which will galvanize on people’s initial interest in Cricket.

If we scowl at people because they can’t bowl properly or look weird in the nets we’ll never grow as a sport in Ireland and It’ll always be perceived as that prody sport that is not welcoming to outsiders.

Let’s welcome all new comers with open arms and invest some time so they to can love the game of Cricket as we do and spread the good word to the masses.

    Regards

    Posh

It undoubtedly will. If the structures are improved in schools etc. then it is bound to grow greatly.
