Dublin's "Co-ordinated" Airport Authority

With lotsa talk on other threads about Dublin Airports new coordinated status airside,it could well be about time to focus on the lack of same on the other side of the fence.

With the Dublin Airport Authority now apparently happy that it has sorted out the planes an stuf the Bosses have decided that money has to be raised from other sources.

With this in mind the hi-flying DAA managerial people have decided to levy a charge on ALL Bus Operators using the current "Facilities".

It appears the DAA wish to introduce a "Tendering Process" for the stances (Hardly a brilliant idea considering the rather poor track record we as a nation have with such processes)

It appears these highly paid geniuses have some notion that a form of auction for the "Prime" stances will get more money in to fill their managerial trough with sweet smelling swill.

The net effect of this is initially to relocate the "Service Bus" stances further away from the Terminal to a spot presently in the middle of the old coach park.

This will free up "Prime" stance-space for auction to the highest bidder and which the "Premium" Coach services will presumably stump up the dosh for, thereby relegating the "Ordinary" Bus user to the nearby countryside and a brisk walk as a result.

The ONLY response this lunacy deserves is for ALL of the Operators including the Taxi industry to remove themselves from DAA property and disembark their passengers at the Swords Rd perimeter.

Each passenger to be given a small printed card with the contact details of
    (1) The DAA Chief Executive
    (2) The DAA PR Spokesperson
    (3) The Pat Kenny Show
    (4) Joe.
    (5) Any relevant and Interested Provincial Radio and Newspaper operations.

The DAA Managerial Suite have obviously cottoned onto the fact that the best way to deflect attention from glaring inadequate facilities is to jump around feverishly and throw mad ideas at people who wont complain.....Now with election night looming large lets see which candidate will have the balls to stand up to this stupid nonsense.

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

I imagine they'll charge every Metro aswell.... to counter the development levies that Metro will get from T2.
