Who here has played these games in the past? I was throughly addicted to the first (Red/Blue/Yellow) and second (Gold/Silver/Crystal) generations. I told myself that I wasn't going to buy Ruby or Sapphire when they came out. But one of my friends was intent on getting them, so he convinced me. I've wasted hundreds of hours playing them, so I'll probably end up getting the DS games when they come out.

Caught em all in red and blue, never got that into the other ones. I'd say I'll give it another spin though when the upcoming DS one makes it to europe.

new ones for DS are out on 22nd april

Remember though, the new ones are out 22nd April in the USA. Outside of importing, we probably won't get it here until the summer at the earliest, probably much later.

On topic: I have a horrible habit of buying all the true pokemon games i.e. Red, Silver, Sapphire and Fire Red, and the thing is, I tend not to get very far in them (well, the later two). I think it has something to do with my brother having a go of my Red back when I was more interested in levelling up my pokemon in Silver having completed that game, and him saving over my 150+ hours of gameplay...grrr.

So I doubt I'll break the trend and should have a copy of Diamond nestled among its brothers 6 months from now. Also, I have a few friends who intend to get the new ones also (one who's buying a DS just to play pokemon on). I think having people you can trade/battle with gives a whole extra dimension to the games. In fact, that's another reason I probably lost interest in Sapphire and Fire Red a bit, I knew of nobody who had them. An added bonus for D & P is the online play gives you the multiplayer experience without having to have a friend with the game.

Wouldnt mind one like Blue/Red for the Wii, like a gta for pokemon.

Pokémon :( What a wonderful childhood gone by, With the money spent on batteries I could have both over 100 copies of the game :(

used to have each new gameboy, pokemon was the greatest handheld game series ever imo.and one of the best overall.....spend so much time on them all
the spin off games though are mainly crap...eg.mystry dungon[played on friends ds] , dash, etc. but the trading card game was good, and the pin ball game was fantasic
might get a ds when birthday comes around, if not just to play the new one:D

My favorite pokemon game was... and will always be pokemon Snap!

It gets such a bad rep tho! I dont know why!

It was such a fun game! and at times SUPER hard!

Most of the spinoff games DID suck. I only bought them if they somehow helped with the main games. A friend and I went halves on Pokémon Channel, we played through it that day to get Jirachi. Then never again. Snap was a good enough game, I only played it briefly though.

PAL is booked for June sometime, isn't it?
Anyway, I fear that my life will be more or less over once I get my copies: VoIP, trade over internet, 480 Pokemon & backwards-trading with the GBA games ON THE SAME MACHINE(!) will mean I won't have much free time for... y'know, life.

    Can't wait! :D
