Dell Inspiron Backlight issue

    Got a dell inspiron 6000 and im trying to find out how to keep the backlight on when its not plugged in, the screen is very dull on battery. I've looked through all the power option settings and cant find how to do this, not even sure if I can, any help??

    AFAIK holding the function key (Fn) and pressing arrow up and down adjusts the LCD brightness. There's also a quickset option in the taskbar for power management stuff.

    You can set up a preferred power profile for what you are doing, office, mobile, home etc. Then use quickset to switch between the profiles.
