A thought occured to me: if the Sci Fi channel had not picked up Stargate for its 6th season, the Sci Fi channel would not have had the revenue to produce BSG: before SG1 Sci Fi channel threw its money away producing B-rate TV movies.

Anyway I wanted to make this point clear to anyone who wants to admit BSG to be the better Sci Fi series: They owe a lot to Stargate.

    Only money.

Also, at no point does CPR become necrophilia.

That's classic! It has replaced "if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle" in my stock of phrases :)

    Wasn't Stargate a crappy movie?

    Bang!
    Oh what was that?

You're dead is what it was.

Bang again, just to make sure.

That's right. Pay your respects and bow before your God. As much as I've enjoyed the first 2.5 seasons of BSG, I can't ever see it holding the same longevity as SG1 and the show did help pave the way on SciFi for BSG by showing home-grown series could work.

It even featured a young Grace "Boomer" Park at one point...

    Isn't 'Battlestar Galactica' a crappy cheesy 80s sci-fi show? :)

Not to mention, off the top off my head, the guy who plays Helo as one of the human form replicators and the guy that plays Gaeta as the Ancient Egyptian lad who helps Daniel in Moebius.

Mm. Grace was one of the n00bs in Proving Ground.

And Chief Tyrol was both a Jaffa in one episode and some lad named Moac in another filler, Maternal Instinct.

Gaeta was also some chap named Eliam.

Aron Doral (Cylon) was also in 3 episodes as 2 different characters.

Seelix played one of the Russian SG-members in The Tomb: the only one to survive if I recall right.

And there are definitely some more lesser actors from BSG that were in SG-1.

Elaim? was that not Eliam Gareck from DS9?
Well 10 years was a good run and i love SG1 some amazing fantastic episodes and because it ran for so long ...
Actually I can’t compare the 2, there both amazing, BSg has more mystery SG1 has more comedy but i dont know what to say after that

BSG is quite a long way better than SG1.

    That is all.

Not that SG1 is a bad show, I loved it up until around season 8... but BSG has simply raised the bar.

IF you consider the last 5 seasons of sg1, Battlestar Galactica is superior by a LOT.

The first 5 seasons of Sg1 are scifi gold however, and hands downs some of the best scifi on tv ever.

Overall, i'll miss Battlestar more than i'll miss Stargate.

i dont know because ive seen some bsg episode 10+ times and have not got tired and there sonly been 3 seasons, theres been 10 seasons of sg1 and i find after seing a episode of that around 8 times i dont have any urge to watch it again.

BSG has more rewatchabality but SG1 has more to watch overall so it will be interesting to see in 5 or 10 years which show would be easyer to re-watch, id have to say BSG because its so...... epic
