    Hey all,

I got a Wii today presuming it came with a HD component cable.

Is there any advantage in getting a HD cable, will I notice a big difference in graphics??

HD cable?? do you mean HDMI ? You do realise that the Wii does not display High diffinition images as standard?

I've seen plenty of people saying that getting a component cable for a HDTV for Wii is a must.

You can geta comparison on Gamespot of Zelda with the two cables.

Nice one!! I just bought one on ebay.

Does anyone know what resolution the Wii will use with the component connection, my tv supports anything up to 1080p

I think 480p is teh max the Wii does.

Yeah 480P is the Max but colours look better and there are less jaggied edges as the composite cable that comes with it is really poor.

The Wii doesn't do High Definition, the most it does is 480p.

What the component cable will do is allow you to use progressive scan, the "p" in 480p.

It makes a bit of a difference. Some notice it more than others. Things, particularly text, seem sharper.

Remember to set the correct settings in your Wii setup (EDTV/HDTV in the video settings I think), otherwise you won't notice any difference.
