eBay feedback changes...

Seems they've made some changes and (possible) improvements to the detail of certain aspects of leaving feedback.



You rate from 1 star to 5 stars on each of 4 sub categories...the user you're leaving this feedback for doesn't see these ratings, and I'm unsure as to how they go on to affect an overall feedback rating , if at all.
Perhaps as these sub-ratings build up they will eventually appear beside a seller's rating.
I'm not sure if these changes apply for a seller leaving feedback for a buyer (not sold anything for a while) but I'd think that the most beneficial aspect of this rating system could be for sellers who do a lot of business (assuming they get good feedback)

Or perhaps theis is some sort of internal scoring system for eBay themselves in order to keep track of users...ie. build up a lot of 1 stars in one sub category and you get warnings on postal charges for instance.

Nice to see a change from the comments only thing and I hope they use the data they're gathering to police sllers (and buyers) a bit better...

It is an improvement alright, the original feedback method was limited. I would think as you mentioned, the stars will build up.

Apparently a summary of the star ratings will appear in a seller's profile once 10 people have rated that saller using the new system.
