    Hi techies,

Just wondering if this laptop is any good and how much you think its worth:

    Dell Inspiron 6400
    T2400 Duo Processor (1.83 Ghz, 2 Mb L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB)
    15.4" Wide Screen WXGA (1280 x 800) TFT Display
    1024Mb 533 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
    100Gb Hard Drive (5,400 rpm)
    128Mb ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 PCI-Express x 16
    8x DVD +/-RW drive
    Internal 802.11 a/b/g Wireless card
    9 Cell, 80Whr Li-ion battery
Windows XP Media Centre edition 2005

It also has a month and a half remaining on the warranty

    Thanks

processor is fine, resolution of tft is average, 1 gig of ram should be fine for xp, same for hard disk space. graphics are medium/average.

what do you want to use this for? would be a handy enough machine i would imagine, i would pay around 900e for that, give or take. if a refurb. prob worth 1100e new, off the top of my head.

the graphics are ok for games, but just dont expect blazing performances.

Probably €650-€750 ish for the machine itself seeing as a new one of similar calibar in that price range although the slightly low amount of warranty left would effect its value.

    Thanks guys,

This is actually a laptop I was thinking of selling. I havent really used it much and just wanted to see what people thought of it or what I'd get for it before putting it on ebay. If I do get €850 for it I'll be delighted

They're €770 new with 120gig hard drive at the moment there's also a load of them in the Outlet store for €695 with 2gig RAM you're being a bit optimistic looking for €850 seeing as it's used I'd say around 650 if you're lucky

The one being sold for €779 comes with a slower processor (1.66Ghz) so to compare the two you would have to upgrade to 1.83Ghz which would cost an extra €302.

I see your point though, €850 is a bit optimistic. The damn thing cost me €1200 less than a year ago but thats depreciation for ye. Maybe having MS office installed on it might help up the price a bit
