Pay Issues

I've been working in the same place for almost a year now so have accrued a fair bit of holiday pay. I've been asking for 2 months to take those but nothing has happened... My holiday hours expire at the end of the month and since I never got them I decided to leave as it meant that I could get it at the end like I had at my previous jobs. Am I correct in assuming that this is what is meant to happen? I had left in January for a bit due to study etc. but I was never taken off the system therefore never got any of the hours I was owed but ended up coming back when I needed some money.

Also every member of staff is stuck in after hours for cashing up, cleaning etc. I work on minimum wage so it is a total joke to expect me to happily do that when we rarely get paid for it. I kicked up a fuss and got paid the extra for two days and told I should have said something earlier. I had. Several times. It is so irritating to stay behind half an hour to an hour being told to wash floors, dust, tidy or whatever when it's on our personal time. What are the legalities of that? From what I've read it seems that it's completely illegal and that we should be paid for every second we work. We sign in and out with our exact hours so it's not a case of nobody realising.

    Thanks!
