How do you stop pishing? Switch email?

    I keep getting these spam emails or 'phising' as i now find out to be the correct term. About 2 weeks ago i started spotting loads of spam coming into my gmail on a regualr baisis, whats unusual is that i have not signed up to anything but yet someone has my email... now im regualary bombarded with fake emails from ebay/paypal saying that the accounts in jeporday and these fake (though hilarious) youv'e WON! emails like this one below.

    ''CONGRATULATIONS: YOU WON 1,000,000.00 Euros (:rolleyes:)

    We are pleased to inform you of the result of EuroMillions Lottery SPE.,
    which was held on the

    You cant stop them really.. I get them into my spam folder in gmail a fair bit but its simply a case of delete and forget I dont think they even register with me any more
    someone has my email...

    Spamers have scripts that quite simply scour the net looking for email addresses which they store in handy little databases and when they get bored of that they have other scripts for which simply make up email addresses its all very clever really..

    Use gmail which is good at catching most of these, I used to find Thunderbird had a pretty good filter setup which also use to catch these.

    However if your worried about a newbie getting cought out due to phishing then I'd recommend firefox 2.0 which has anti-phishing build in and there's also plenty of third party extentions you can get ti improve things too

    Thanks...but just now a thing came into my spam box, an unknown email from an unknown sender with nothing in it! should i be worried, arn't these things trojan horses???:confused:
