Interview nerves

    Hi folks
I had an interview earlier in the week in which I thought I did really well. The role would have been excellent for my career and although it would have been a big step up from my current role in terms of responsibility, I felt very at ease with that. I came out of the interview feeling that I had performed excellent although a little nervous at the beginning.
It was infact the early nerves that were my downfall in this case as have been told that my technical ability had been spot on and every question had been answered very well.
My question therefore is, are there any tips on how to relieve early nerves or to block that from the interviewer.

    Regards
    Damien

I studied a bit of NLP and got certified in it, and its great for nerves etc..

Simple as this, but it works...

breath deep and full, stand tall, imagine hear see and feel a time in your minds eye when you were the most confident ever in your life. really see it, feel it, hear what it sounds like. Visualise this strong before your nest interview, stand confident. look the part too in your dress. walk confident, project confident in all you do, tell yurself you are confident ..... You will be confident!

if you get nerves tell the nerves to "Shut to F**K UP" and get back to being confident.

google NLP techniques for confidence. I am sure you will get better examples that mine.

sometimes I feel nerves in life too, so I play a game with myself, and practice the techniques to get real confident, especialy when I am going into a new situation. its amazing how a few mins of this will change you, and you walk into the place so confident...you see people noticing it in you!(I do it all the time!) (and maybe minutes earlier you were quivering with nerves!)
