Just got a job offer which nearly doubled my pay (good news cause i was broke) :)

Any tips on quitting gracefully as the jittery nerves have kicked in.

Oooh great feeling isnt it, i did this last week.

Just go in calmly and proffesionally, explain that you feel its time to move on and have been offered a new position. If they ask why, explain your reasons with a pinch of salt.

Just tell them that you've been offered a job, and that you're going to take it. Say that it's an opportunity that you really can't pass up, so you wanted to hand in your notice effective today.

Before you do it though, I'd always make sure that any conditions of the offer are out of the way first...medical or references etc...

A Cleveland Steamer on the bosses desk will get the point across.

Isn't that supposed to go on a person's chest? A little less subtle than your way though.

Try quitting in the same way Ed norton did in Fight Club. Having brad pitt as your imaginary friend is probably optional.

Definitely do not put a morphene tablet in the sandwich of that person you really hate in the office. Just in case you were thinking of doing that before you leave. Its not funny, it was never funny, especially when they get a funny taste, find half of the tablet and then think someone is trying to kill them.

    I didnt post this

Just be polite and don't vent any anger (If there is any ;) ). Ireland is an incredibly small country and you'll invariably end up running into people again. I moved cities and still everyone i work in my new job can be connected either through personal experience or been friends of a friend. It's actually quite scary. As they say don't burn any bridges....
