camera resolution problem-small Jpeg's

I used to get jpeg's of about 15k on my webcam. Intel Pc Pro CS 430, now I get ones about 5k which are too small to read properly. Can anyone advise how to change the resolution of the camera. The option does not come up in properties? It's got me stumped, I have updated drivers for XP but still no joy! Thanks for any…

Never used one before but isn't the capture resolution tied to the resolution set in the webcam properties e.g the max would be 640x480 ?
