Hi, the next Galway Jazz Club gig is on on the 27th March 2007... at the Cellar Bar, Eglinton Street, galway. Doors open 8.30pm.... Gig starts at 9pm.
Admission is 8 Euro / Concession 5 euro.

The Marco Kegel Quartet consists of Marco Kegel on alto saxophone, Dan Nicholas on Guitar, Johnny Daly on Bass, and Thorsten Grau on drums. The quartet has existed as a working band for over a year with all members based in the Netherlands, and has played in some of Holland's most prestigeous jazz clubs, including Amsterdam's Bimhuis, Rotterdam's Dizzy, and the Hague Jazz Festival.
The Marco Kegel Quartet displays a deep knowlege and love of the classic jazz period. Following the example of Charlie Parker, Marco Kegel has created a unique and personal voice on the alto saxophone, continually finding new wrinkles in the be-bop language. All members of the group similarly use the jazz tradition as a foundation and inspiration for their own personal musical exploration. Though the group focus is on lyrical interplay, they keep a quiet fire burning continually through melodic intensity and hard swinging. Repertoire ranges from Kegel's Tristano inspired originals to fresh arrangements of American Songbook standards and jazz classics.
    See you there!
