I'm not a big man for sob stories but here I go anyway - yesterday the only two bets I was definitely going to do was to Back Denman and Lay Well Chief...

So, getting near the off, for some mental reason I figured Denman was too short and didn't back him... he p*sses in... this put my nose out of joint a bit and I then somehow managed to convince myself that I was missing the boat my not BACKING Well chief... so I backed him instead of laying...

    Idiot...

well punters, got home thursday after a strange week
Day 1 started off with clopf who I fancied a long time ago...non runner so I got stuck into fav amaretto rose....not a good start.Arkle backed don't push it...fell.I was thinking the week ahead is not looking good.Up came the big race...backed sublimity ew ante-post, so cleaned up...I was the only person in my section of the stand cheering him home....Got stuck into juveigeneur and mick fitz hands out up the hill big time and had the cigars bought for his win and then Davy russell dashes home with no weight on joes edge to win .I was sick after that...had a brandy and ginger ale to compose myself.Backed Heads on the ground..delighted.Backed pancake in the last....he came last
    Day 2.
We were all on aran concerto, cigars bought again wating for him to do a bridle job....how dissapointed we were....got great word on snowy morning the night before from one of the owners and he said hes a massive chance so we got stuck into him...the powerful Mick fitz on board again...Got badly hampered and lost ryhthm.Could not reel back Denman who was a worthy winner..We were all happy with snowy mornings run....Next up Well Chief..backed him ante-post at 5-1 and 2-1...all he had to do was turn up and jump....I nearly shat in my pants when he fell....Pissed off after that I was..In the Bumper I was on Mad Fish all the way...he needed more experience....also had shirley casper so pulled back a few bob. Backed Powerstation 2 day as well ...came a good second
Glad I wasn't there Thur and fri...would of got cleaned....the atmosphere was strange over there this year but overall I was happy going home as sublimity kept me adrift...Role on next year in the Cotswolds
