IPoker Disconnection Glitch?

1st off I'd like to point out this has nothing to do with my ISP, my laptop, my wireless connection etc.

Here's the issue; I'm playing on GJP, I get botted/disconnected. I try to log back in. The software tells me the username is already being used. I cannot log back in.

The fix - I need to disconnect from my wireless network, reconnect and log back in. This is laborsome and is really starting to get on my nerves. Its happening on a regular basis and has resulted in me folding the nuts a few times. This doesnt happen with any other poker software on my laptop and I play on numerous sites.

has anyone else experienced this issue / know a way of fixing it?

    Thanks.

yeah it has happened to me, most recently was yesteday - i didnt bother trying to disconnect or any of that as i was live ina few markets on betfair.

I tried again about 30mins later and i got back in - now that i think of it tho i think i tripped over my internat cable in between races and pulled it out of the socket

Yeah it has happened me too, I get a lot more disconnects than on Tribeca and it's not my network as I usually have pokerstars open too which is always fine.

It looks like the client logs out once disconnected, but the server doesn't recognise this and when you try to get back in it thinks you never left, pisses me off no end, having to wait 20 minutes to get back in.

Anyone reporting this, can you identify if you are playing on GJP or on another iPoker Skin. Realistically skins are simply that, graphical overlays on a base system so I can only imagine that this is a core problem with the servers rather then GJP specifically but I'd like to be sure.I dont like giving excuses but this is most likely a bigger issue then with GJP and I'd like to have that data to go to them with.

i had the very same problem tonight playing on ppp. Not happyas one hour twenty mins into the tourney. stalled dead for four mins and the same error message came up.

pkt q's that certainly held up as i managed to get back to the table with app 9k left. who knows what size pot i won ?.??17-34k is my reckoning...

like the others... a grumpy man here..

Is it common for ppp customer service to change the agent midway through a complaint?

last night when i was somplaining about the outages i was dealing with one agent and after a couple of mins a second agent took over, obviously i was not happy here as my complaint had not been dealt with at that stage.

anyway i eventually got the original agent back on chat and he changed his story and apologised that he had made a mistake. muppet!!!!!

i will be straight here, the game was hardly high stakes material, however after 90 mins or so into a 1000 player tourney i was doing alright (eventually made it the last 40 or so) and as mentioned before I won the pot with pkt q's and the agent could not confirm exactly how much the pot was, hhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm suspect answer or just plain lazy.............. who knows and its hardly inspiring.

would this be new system glitches or just a shocking platform ??????

    where to next..........

Yeah it's been happening to me on a regular basis on PPP. The final straw is when it happened when i had KK on the big blind and a lunatic who had kept going all in picked the wrong time. By the time it came back the hand was over.

Now the only thing I have found more annoying that is that when I rang support, I was told that it was obviously a problem on my side, that their software was excellent that they havent heard any complaints about it so far. I told the person that it was rubbish, and that no other poker software is doing the same. The person told be that I should just log out and log back in again...

I have had it happen on GJP
I had 1 session where it happened about 20 times in 30 mins and persisted even after rebooting my machine
But in the last week I have not had the issue re-occur

    Question for the techies:

Is it possible that this problem is related to Ireland and our connection to the internet? I do not see any posts about this on THM forum or Blonde and would have expected to as they have been commenting on everything else to do with the network. I managed to recreate the problem by disconnecting my wireless signal manually ad I had the same issue - reset the modem and router and it was grand again.

I have been kicked out by the software a couple of times, mostly when I have been inactive in the lobby and every time the software disconnects me I can log back in straight away no problem.

I've had no problems with the connection from Austria yet!

Could anyone who has had this particuclar disconnection please answer the following via email, mike at greenjokerpoker.com.

Do you receive an error code, please state exactly what is displayed?

Are you on broadband or Dial up?

Who is your ISP (Internet service providers)?

What version of IE (Internet Explorer) are you on? – go to 'help', 'about Internet explorer' to establish which version.

How much memory does your PC have?

What is the speed of your processor?

What is the age of your PC?

Is this the only program you are running when the error occurs?

It is certainly not happening to everyone but if I can get this information from everyone it may help to find where the problem is.

I'd just like to say that this is good customer service. Fair play Mike.

To be fair these questions were asked of one of our players by bluesq support. It did take them a while to get back to this playes initial query so I thought I would circumvent that and get as much data to them as possible.

I have had it happen over here in England once, though it was on my laptop and it could have been just a problem with the wireless connection here.

The questions Mike has posed are critical in getting an answer. If there is a common thread running though them (like perhaps everyone experiencing it is on Eircom) then I can target Ericom's router/routing tables and see if there is a lot of hops from here to the servers. Alternatively it might be that everyone has IE 5 installed and thats the common link. It could be anything but like detectives, techies need clues to formulate theories to test and prove that thats the issue and then solve it. Otherwise we are flying blind.

If you can help us, I'll do the leg work to help you!

I have IE7 installed. I doubt too many others do. Agree with lloyd. Every problem ive had with the new network has been addressed quickly and efficiently which is good to see as if it had been Full Tilt or somehwere else my business would have bene brought elsewhere by now. So nice one for that.

Played on PPP last night, and got disconnected at least 4 times within 2 hours... pain in the a**.

And it is def. not my network or the PC (Dual Core with 4GB of memory).

    Here's Blue Squares response:

"Having contacted our technical team regarding your log in problems, they have suggested that you keep background software to a minimum whilst running the poker software."

This reply is absolute bs. I can use any other poker client with as much software as I please so I'm afraid that Blue Squares response is totally unacceptable.

The only people I'm actually getting a proper response from is the GJP people and I appreciate the effort they're making.

I was disconnected at least 6 times again last night, the last time sent me on tilt and I donked off 70% of my nights profits.

I'm going to go back to Party temporarily until Ipoker have sorted out the network issues as it's become way too frustrating.

The whole software crashed on me last night for no apparent reason. I restarted the software and it brought me straight back to the tables I was on and thankfully the raise I had just made wasn't reraised and I was still in the hand.

Still though such things are worrying considering there is real money involved and totally unacceptable from a supposedly established site.

I have not had many responses from this thread. Of the ones I do have the only common denominator is that everyone is using IE7. I have forwarded this information on and hopefully we can get it sorted asap.

Does anybody have the hand numbers from when they were disconnected? This being taken very seriously as it should be but the problem is proving hard to track. If you have any Hand Id's that you have been disconnected during please forward them to pokeroperations (at) bluesq.com.
