It looks like my ACL needs to be rebuilt all shiny and new. Anyone who's gone through this have an idea of a ballpark price for this procedure?

(posted this in fitness a few weeks back to no response btw in case anyone suggests that)

Take it you don't have health insurance

After that it depends on where you go and who does it

Specialist in blackrock will cost a lot more than your average orthopaedic surgeon down the country.

Ring around and find out - try beacon/blackrock for a start for worse case scenario

If you plan on play sport afterwards might as well get it done right..

I do. I didnt back when i screwed the knee up so i doubt the VHI will fork out for this.

I wanted an idea of what price range this procedure will be in just in case i faint when some orthos secretary quotes me half of zimbabwes national debt..

I'd say you'd be covered, you should check with the health insurance company, you'll probably be outside the exclusion period
You may have done the injury before being covered, but your only arranging the operation now? Worth a shot

Can you not go see a specialist in a public hospital, that way it costs nothing? Get your doc to refer you.
