If this happens one more time today I'll need some one to reassemble my laptop.

I'm using wireless connection which shows as full on my computer and everything else is working fine. Starting this morning I noticed that sometimes when I click an action button (fold/raise/call etc) my timer nearly reaches the bottom before I respond. On occassion the timebar reaches the bottom and times me out saying "did not respond in time and you have been sat out" sometimes it didn't really matter as I was folding anyway but it has also happened with monster hands.

eg Me 22 call raise and flop 233 i bet raiser goes all in and I press CALL......... and watch as the timer bar goes all the way to the bottom and folds my cards.

I've spoken to my ISP and they say everything is ok on their end. Also the poker site told me to contact my ISP as it was a connection problem.

Any ideas.... it's driving me mad!!

BTW nothing has changed... ISP/site etc all the same and is always perfect and is perfect right now but I know it will happen again in few mins.

Use the ethernet port on your laptop and see if the same thing happens.

    I assume you've already reststarted your modem/router?

Thanks for the prompt reply Ian..yeah tried that and it's the same and seems to be getting worse. happening now about once every round of the table.
I'm going to a local hotel now to try their wireless and see if it improves things.

    I'll let you know.

Mac.... Is there a law about cruelty to mouses/mices/mice as I've just killer another one.......... ( back to old ball type now) ;)

I used to have that problem and fixed it by updating my wireless card drivers (and try router firmware too if you haven't already). Might not help, but worth checking.

Also, 22 on a 233 board is not the nuts so it was probably a good fold.

Edit: ignore what I said, just read above. If it's still happening via ethernet cable then updating wireless drivers isn't going to do anything....

If you have a personal firewall turn it off. Also check the router firewall too & make sure it's set to low.

If your still having the same problem & using Mcafee, uninstall Mcafee. If you use Zone alarm try switching it off when your playing.

   That is seriously bad advice there!
With no firewall there's nothing stopping random hackers from hacking into your system and potentially retrieve your poker username and password or do other bad stuff. Not to mention virusses and such that you invite.

You can disable the firewall for a few minutes to see if thats the problem. If so, add an exception to the firewall for the poker client. Do not disable it for a prolonged period of time!!
