manga animations over songs

ok, so im wondering what the hell the deal is with people taking a clip from some dodgey manga cartoon, usually of some collossal and epic space battle and putting music over it.

and then posting it on you tube?

whats the deal?

Beats the hell out of me. Annoying when you're trying to find a clip of something on the likes of youtube and finding nothing but this kind of 5hite.

i agree some off it annoying as hell. but if done right and to the right song it can look so dam good to. like my mate did with ff advent children bit mike patten and it looked and sounded awsome. was better then the one from the film anyway lol.
but as for the rest it annoys the hell out me if not done right it looks bad

Because a lot of people really enjoy anime mussic videos. I know I do.
You have to have watched and enjoyed the series though, or else they are completely boring.

if you can find it, there's one of neon genesis evagalion done to the trailer of eternal sunshine of the spotless mind which is downright amazing.

honestly like I said there is alot of crap. but if you go to some of the big sites that promote it (www.animemusicvideos.org is one) and just check the highly rated ones you can get some pretty impressive or funny stuff.

I usually check the above site whenever it has had its best of year competition and see the nominees, they are usually the best (AMV hell which monkeyfudge linked won it a few years back thats how I first saw it

There are some excellent AMV's on that site and conversely an absolute pile of rubbish ones. You can search by anime and by song used so finding videos you'd enjoy isn't hard (just be careful with songs by Weird Al and Frou Frou as those songs seem to attract the crap videos with a smattering of genius ones).

AMV Hell is a lot of fun (there are 3 i think... and one pornographic one too).
