    Dear all,

I am interested in joining the maaireland gym in East Wall- I was just wondering if anybody here is already a member and if so:

    1) What are the costs involved

    2) Can anyone join at anytime?

    3) What is parking like down at the gym?

The website isn't too informative on such matters!

    Thanks.

Give Shane a buzz on 087 792 8363 and he'll gladly answer your questions.

I used to train there a few months ago and the story then was : you can join in at any time and your first couple of classes are on the club, if you're thinking of commiting there's a monthly rate around 45 euro.

you can park around the club, it's in a housing estate but i'd recommend you use public transport and walk from connolly.

Thanks for that, I'll give him a ring tomorrow. Do you need a gi or similar or are trackies acceptable.

Public transport isn't an option for me, due to other commitments (work, college), the bus would leave me half an hour late with a 40 min walk ahead of me!

A few people drive to the club with no problems so feel free to drop by.

Very true. I've heard that he's a surprisingly decent bloke once you get to know him... :D

I park my car in the area; but no self respecting thief would want to be seen anywhere near it! :o

hehe, apologies to all east wall residents but i just meant it's bit of hassle going in and out of the city centre and it's more enviro friendly to use PT :)

Of course thats what you mean Kevin :D. A lot of commuters park their cars around East Wall and then walk to town so they can't all be wrong!

Plus the new dart station has opened at the back of the IFSC so that might make it easier to get to if you are on the dart line
