i was hopint to install one of these on my fender strat as i find fine tunin and going out of tune a constant problem

does anyone here have a usa strat with one of these??
are they overall good quaility as i use an awful lot of palm muting as tend to break e,a or d strings at the bridge from time to time... do these have more/less/the same wear and tear at the bridge???

are they easy to fit to a usa strat???
do the locking nuts at the neck drastically adjust action/tuning up there??
    are they worth the money??

any overall honest info on this topic would be handy...

TBH, if you're breaking strings while palm muting, a Floyd Rose would be absolutely hell for you. You would keep putting the strings sharp by pushing down on the Floyd.

(You could have just opened one thread btw ;) )

ok thanks.. i dont use the whammy bar often really so i was i'm not really comited to the idea...

can someone just use the nut at the neck and use same bridge??? and if so what's up with the action/tuning and what are the advantages/disadvantages to this system

If you use the locking nut, you won't be able to tune the strings and more than likely, you will put the strings out of tune by locking the nuts. There's a thread about strat tuning. Check it out.

You can still tune your guitar at the bridge on a floyd rose, but as others have said, your sound will 'warble' with the pressure being put on the bridge as you try to palm mute the strings.

He asked about using the locking nut with the stock non-Floyd bridge.

If you don't use the trem that much maybe block the existing trem ala clapton?
