    Breaking news this afternoon...

    ITV Play is not coming back, it is to permanently close, ITV2+1 is to launch...

    ... to launch on Freeview, where it currently isnt.

    ITV Play is to close as a standalone channel, BUT call-in participation programmes such as The Mint will still be on ITV1 and 2.

    Yay for ITV Play being gone. No loss at all. Shame they wouldn't put M+M or something other than a +1 in it's place!

    The caption on the channel now says "Daily after midnight". I haven't watched after this time, but I guess that it is probably a simulcast of "The Mint" on ITV1.

    At least Freeview space will be more sensibly used.
