I've searched The web for weeks now and mainly used www.tripadvisor.co.uk in my search for good clean, comfortable hotel. In the end I booked The Royal Saint Michel at about 160 a night low season.
The other hotels below seemed good aswell and would be worth checking out.
I'm off to paris on the 30th of March and will post my findings after.

Staying in Hotel De La Porte Doree for 3 nights in June, looking forward to it.

Only €70 a night for the room, great reviews on tripadvisor, average rating of 4/4.5. You'd be hard pressed to find anything remotely clean/comfortable in Paris for that price!

i was interailing there last Summer and the cheapest we could find at short notice was E180 for a twin room,bit of a shock when we had been paying E10 for hostels for the last month!Wasnt the cleanest either,came back after dinner to find our room cleaned but with porn on in full swing on the tv!!:rolleyes:

I've been to Paris now 6 times, and will go again before this year is out. It's just incredible. This time I stayed in a little hotel under the Eiffel Tower called "Hotel de la Paix", and couldn't help wondering what was familiar about it, until I watched "The Bourne Identity" again, it's featured in it!

you're lying! the "hotel de la paix" featured in this movie is far away from the eiffel tower, it's in a cheap and dangerous area called "Bellevile", the adress is 4 rue Louis Bonnet.
