Extras needed for poker film

    Hey folks

(I hope this is okay mods, if not just take it down)

We are shooting a poker short next week in Dublin in various locations across the city. We are in need of a few extras to sit at the poker tables and a few at some blackjack tables. The film will be premiered at the Cannes film festival this yea and has attracted a lot of media interest.

We are looking mostly people above the age of thirty but we need a few younger people as well.

We are also in need of some dealers for various scenes.

Just to give fair warning, our budget is stretched very thin as it is and there will be no payment but it will be a fun shoot and you will get a credit in the film and an invite to the rap party.

If you are interested and can make any of the times below please send an e mail to paulgernon@wesleyroadfilms.com

Monday the 19th 8 PM – 4 AM Dublin City centre.
    Tuesday the 20th 6pm – 2 AM Inchacore

    Thursday the 22nd 5AM – 11 AM Rathmines

A bit of whist out of you now if you don't mind.

It'll be the only chance half the inhabitants of this forum have of getting on camera playing poker :p

Gotta love the way the way the irish prioritise such 2 barrelled questions. Its never - where is it and is there a free bar?
In Micks case here for example if the answer to part A of his question is no, then he don't give a fcuk about part B. Mick subconsciously phrases his question this way- as do most irish - so he doesn't have to use a couple of braincells retaining the location of the event for a few seconds if the free bar does not exist. With no free bar, the location would become irrelevant.

According to Mike Caros Book of Tells, we can see that Mick may have a drinking problem and we can exploit this to our advantage at the poker table. When seated at a poker table with any irish person ask yourself "is this person likely to have an issue with alcohol and can I use this to my advantage?" 90% of the time the answer is yes.

You must be careful however with some of the tells applying to normal species of human for example - Paddy is in the cutoff , looks at his cards and glances quickly at his chips. You look down at A 10 in cutoff -1. You were going to raise but decide Paddys got a big hand and fold. Paddy folds behind you. Wtf? you say to yourself. But then you notice an almost empty shot glass beside Paddys chips. "D'oh" says you to yourself. Paddy has inadvertently fooled me again.

Have extras got the choice between being extras at the poker table or blackjack table?. Like for instance what would happen if the set men or director asked an extra to sit at a blackjack table but the extra turned up because he wanted to be a poker player extra. Would he be facilitated and granted his poker player extra wish without the director going into one or the set men grumbling?.

    edit: sticky BobSloane reply. LOL
