Xda Exec & Active sync issues

I have a XDA Exec. I have Activesync installed. When I plug the cable into my PC it will charge the Exec but it's not detected in Activesync.

I've checked the firewall etc and there's nothing blocking it / it's setup to allow Activesync.

I had these problems in the past a few months ago when I tried it (but eventually got it working) - not sure what's going on this time?

I've tried both the Activesync on the disk and the one from the MS website.

This is what I've got ..

I had this problem with a Hermes and believe it or not, I tried a different cable (a Motorola mini usb) and it sorted the problem. Looks like my cable was faulty

I've had that happen before with my XDA Atom. A reboot usually fixed it.

Have you tried plugging it into another computer to see if it is recognised?

Also if you go into the PC's Device Manager do you see it listed under USB or under Unknown Devices?

I've have an exec my-self and I have heard people do have problems if you connect it to a USB Hub and not directly to the PC.

PS... Crossbow is so sweet (WM6)

I've tried 2 cables. The one that came in the box and another mini USB I had around.

Have rebooted PC and Exec a few times, no effect.

Have reinstalled AS a few times, no effect.

I still have to try it on another PC, not had a chance yet.

    Where do I get WM6?

    Keep it coming! :)

You might need to upgrade activesync to 4.5. I had the same problem with my mini-s and now it works fine.

    Activesync

    Hope that helps

You can get it from this thread here. Nothing official out yet though, so you install at your own risk

Anything showing up in device manager when it is connected?

Also what version of Activesync are you using?

A number of WM6 ROMs have been cooked and can be found at www.xda-developers.com, however if you have not flashed a ROM before I would strongly recommend reading the posts and their wiki
