The zips on the pockets of my jacket are knackered too...

Sometimes a keyring will fit, I used one on a boot for a couple of years...

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

What kind of keyring or paper-clip would you recommend?
Do you use the standard double o-ring? I was going to buy one of these from eBay:
    keyring.jpg

Or should I go for one of these?
    paperclip.gif

The keyring looks sturdier, but the paper-clip looks more flexible..
Would carbon fibre be over-kill? I just can't make up my mind..

Broken zips dont always point to bad workmanship. Here is a useful list of ways to avoid busted zips.
Jacket zip busted: Ease up on the biscuits there fatty.
Trousers zip busted: Eys on the road not the eye candy on the footpath.
Pocket zip busted: Buy a more economical bike.
Boot zip busted: Dont wear your flares inside your alpinestars.
Glove zip busted: Remove the Rolex before putting the gloves on.
    There, simple...
