Use the "Import Wizard" in Outlook.

    Regarding Outlook Express opening....

    Right Click the "Start" button.

    Choose "Properties"

    Click on the "Customize" button.

Make sure you choose "Outlook" from the drop down list & put a green tic mark in the e-mail box beside the drop down list.
