Planning on taking my girlfriend to NY as a suprise. But she's normally the one to do all the online booking etc, and I haven't a clue really.
I think i'm sorted with Aer Lingus and the flights, but I haven't a clue with the hotels.

    Anyone recommend one?
I'd be willing to spend a good bit (not thousands like!) - and I'd like it to be a comfortable one, centrally located.

    Thanks

If your after a nice hotel, I'd go with Sheraton Manhattan at Times Square. Price depends on when you're planning to take the trip, but you will get value for money there. http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/index.html

Yeah i look on tripadvisor - but sometimes the opinions are all over the place. One person LOVES it and the other thinks its a complete sh*thole! So i was just checking to see if anyone on this place could recommend somewhere where they've been personally, and thought it was good.

Hi Guys, I'm looking to go to New york in December and I'm trying to sort out a hotel now. Our budget is limited to about €1500.
At the moment i'm looking at either Radisson Lexington or the Belleclaire. can anyone reccommend any other hotels or even a studio apartment.
    we're going for 7 days.

    Cheers

The Marriott on Times Square is very cool hotel, stayed there last week. It's around $348 per night but you may get a better deal since I booked it last minute.

If your looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a good location then I'd recommend Red Roof Inn ( read the tripadvisor reviews, nearly all good). I stayed there a month ago and it was really good. Nice and clean and great location. 2 mins to Empire state and 2 mins to Macys.
I booked pretty early ( near 7 months beforehand) and got it for $109 per night.

I can also recommend the Red Roof Inn although it was USD180 per night excluding tax when we went in November 2005. It is in an excellent location. 2 minutes from Macys etc and not far from anywhere really !

    Enjoy !

Check out either www.needahotel.com or www.expedia.com they will give details ot the facilities in each hotel , i've stayed in Fitzpatricks Grand Central it was very good $199 per room per night , worth checking out their website, but sometimes if you phone them you will get a better price
