Surround Sound Question

hi as long as getting a new hd tv my dad also wants to get in proper surround sound feature but the ones we were lookng at costs bout 500e. just wondering is it worth spending this much r is the sound good on its own. also if you have newer good to purchase please let me know Thanks

It's completely relative.

€500 on one speaker would still not be high end.
