looks like quirkey hasnt given up on games.....yet. They just got in sega's "Lets Go Jungle", global vR's "Aliens Extermination", "Virtua Tennis 3", and sega's "Afterburner". As a big surprise, they're all quite good in their own way. If you're any sort of a fan of james camerons Aliens, you simply have to play the new game. Its a shooter (like house of the dead) and the guns even have a digital ammo counter like the film! Word of warning though, its very good but also very hard! check it out...

Quirkies has been crap for years now. Get a few cabinets with games from the 80s/early 90s, and I'll come back (whats the bet they'd probably charge €2 a credit on those too)

Hmm... I MIGHT check them out.
Too bad about arcades turning into gambling-machine dens these days. Oh well, I'll always have consoles! :)

Yeah, I was in Quirky's 2 weekends ago and i have to say, i was very impressed. Fair enough, there was no golden oldies from the 80's / early 90's in there but what machines i played i really enjoyed! That new remake of After Burner (After Burner Climax) is a hell of a lot of fun. Basically the same gameplay as the classic '87 original but with jaw dropping graphics. Being threw about in all directions by the hydraulics adds to the excitement no end, although i definitely preferred the original full-size cabinet. Great to see a modern arcade in Ireland thriving with loads of punters of all ages.

Oh,, and all Videogames, bar one, were 1 euro per play. Not bad for what you're getting - back in 1987 AfterBurner and OutRun set you back 50 pence per credit.

Only 1 euro isn't bad. In fact I think they may have dropped the price in that case. Do they have any half decent fighters in there at the moment?

I wouldn't mind knowing this too.

Any Street Fighter III: Third Strike or CvS2?
