Ok so I made a purchase on ebay a few weeks back for €30 and it didnt arrive. The seller took a while to get back to me and said they'd send a new one. The new one arrived last thursday and now the original has arrived.

So do I send €10 on postage to send it back or do I keep both?

I might just offer to by it and pay direct - saving us both money on postage.

Just pay him for the extra one.

Why not tell the buyer what has happened, and that if they send you the postage costs, you will return it? Sounds fair to me.

I am going to let her know and see if she would rather I return it or buy it from her. She was good enough to take me at my word and send me the second one in the first place so I cant really keep it.

    Tell the seller.

I had a recent transaction where the item didn't arrive. We waited for a while and the seller sent a replacement. Both items arrived the same day and when I emailed the seller I was told to keep them as a gesture of goodwill.

If we cheat sellers then we have no come back if they cheat us...

Same thing happened me a few months back, I thought I was after being ripped off when it didn't arrive after 10 days. Emailed seller a few times and he said he would send a new one, both arrived same day but postmarks showed they had been sent 10 days apart.

I emailed the seller who offered to sell item to me at one third of price which was his buying price so that I could just relist it and sell it so nobody lost out which I did and made a few quid for myself too...
